New Appointment has Great Spirit
One of area’s largest legal firms, Eric Robinson Solicitors, is welcoming a new recruit to its family law team who not only brings with him years of local experience, but a huge enthusiasm for what is often one of the most sensitive areas of the legal profession.
Southampton native, Paul Linsdell, was born in Bitterne, grew up in Bishopstoke and first studied law for A-level at Barton Peveril College in Eastleigh. He continued his studies and took an industry placement year for a degree in law and business from the University of Bournemouth.
After passing his LPC at Bournemouth with a specialism in civil litigation, Paul completed two years of training in various legal disciplines at Bernard Chill & Axtrell, including wills & probate, conveyancing and matrimonial and family law.
After he became a fully qualified solicitor, Paul devoted a further two and a half years practicing family law, before joining Eric Robinson Solicitors.
‘Being born and bred in Southampton, I of course knew Eric Robinson Solicitors very well and was delighted to be given the chance to practice an area of law at the firm I really enjoy,’ says Paul, 29. ‘It encompasses everything I learnt about civil litigation, but also gives the personal satisfaction of helping people through what is usually a very difficult time in their lives.’
‘I believe the key is to maintain the balance between being sympathetic and understanding whilst never losing sight of the fact that you have a job to do. Of course, there are cases that you can’t help but be moved by, for example when I represented a couple pursuing an application for residence for their grandchild, but I am also seeing an increasing number of returning clients where agreements on issues such as spousal support are having to be reviewed due to changes in circumstance.’
Paul, who has been married himself for three years, still lives in Southampton, but also enjoys travelling abroad - he recently visited Brazil and goes to France regularly. He is a keen whiskey enthusiast with an avid interest in the distilleries and production processes used to create the spirit. |
